Civilian version of the legendary Colt 1860 Army revolver. The frame does not have a cut for shoulder stock, and there are only three screws on the sides. It was produced for the civilian market in limited quantity.
Seen as Colt’s perfection of the cap and ball revolver, the 1860 Army was designed around a lightweight frame, but chambered for the more powerful .44-caliber ball. The first models featured fluted cylinders, while later models incorporated a belted cylinder for added strength and a ’creeping’ loading lever for easier loading. The 1860 Army is considered the ultimate combat handgun of the percussion era.
This faithful reproduction, made by Uberti, has the same high standards established during its original manufacture. It’s authentic in every detail: blue steel barrel, case-hardened steel frame, brass trigger guard, and a one piece, walnut grip. In contrast to the military version, this has a brass backstrap.
