More details

Former Texas Ranger Sam Walker had been in the Comanche fight in 1844, and was a firm believer in Colt’s pistols. In 1846, war with Mexico was looming; Walker’s U.S. Mounted Rifles needed a pistol powerful enough to bring down a horse. Colt built a revolver for him that held 60 grains of black powder and chambered six, .44 calibre balls; Walker ordered 1000 of them and rode off to Mexico and into the history books.

At 4 1/2 lbs., it remained the world’s biggest and most powerful revolver right up until the introduction of the .357 magnum. Uberti’s reproduction is faithful down to the last detail, with 9″ blued steel barrel, gorgeous one piece walnut grip, steel backstrap, brass trigger guard, and even the original 4 1/2-lb. weight!

Caliber .44
Twist 406 mm (1:16″)
Barrel’s length 229 mm (9″)
Overall length 399 mm (15,7″)
Weight 2 kg
