Originally the 1851 Navy was “THE” revolver of the West. It was carried by Wild Bill Hickok, “Doc” Holliday, Robert E. Lee and gold prospectors of all stripes. Boasting a number of improvements over the Dragoon Revolver on which it was modeled – including a lighter weight and simplified mechanics – the 1851 Navy became Colt’s first real “hit” in the civilian market. Produced from 1851–1872, the Navy modell is one of the most famous cap and ball revolvers ever produced. These dependable guns are perfectly balanced and have precise aim. The 1851 has a 6-shot cylinder, fixed sights and one-piece walnut grip.
