Testing original 17th century armour against lead roundballs

hqdefaultHave you ever wondered how effective 17th century armours were against firearms? How much protection a soldier had if he faced musketeers armed with large calibre matchlock or flintlock muskets firing a 21 gram lead roundball?

Here is the sort video report of a really interesting experimen from the Delft Uiversity of Technology. I am surely sad to see these original breast plates die, but the experiment is interesting indeed.
