Martini-Henry: Rapid Fire

British Muzzleloaders puts a MkI Martini-Henry rifle’s rate of fire to the test. Managing an impressive 10 rounds in under a minute at an 18-inch target 110 yards away.  This means the average British soldier would have been able to fire at least 5 aimed rounds in the time it took a charging attacker to reach the firing line.  Although carried out under ‘ideal conditions’ its a fascinating practical experiment showing the capabilities of the British Army’s service rifle of the 1870s & 1880s.
